The following year the competition was thrown open and ever since students below the age of 16 from all over the world have been taking part in it.
Shreyash’s portrayal of Fewa Lake and Arun’s thematic painting of Manakamana cable car both painted in water colour were able to walk away with silver medals from about 160,000 entries. The two paintings are soon going to be published and compiled among many other prize wining paintings in a volume called “Shankar’s Children’s Art Number.
Well known artist Mr. Ratan Kumar Rai who also teaches Art in Rupy’s International School, expressed, “I am very happy for what our students were able to achieve in an International Art Competition which is very rare.” Everyone is happy with their achievements.
Rattan who likes to call himself an artist more than a teacher, beamed, “Art for an example, is not a major scoring subject in most of the schools in our country, and that may be the reason why students aren’t encouraged to bone their eyes. I personally request parents, teachers and schools encourage their children to develop their artistic talents because the result is always positive.
