Curriculum
Rupy’s International School means to have a pioneer and impartial international level curriculum to enable all our students to develop the qualities and skills in the life ahead.
It prepares students for the CBSE Examinations from level 8 onwards, for the purpose of which the school has an admirable team of well-educated and trained teaching faculties. On the other hand, the school follows its international curriculum which has been designed to meet the needs of our students and institution as well.
The Children are made to do a lot of participative works. Learning by doing is the key for every human to reach the success point. For this we indulge our students in various kinds of activities, play games, do practicals, go for excursions, and observe different things and phenomenon. The subject classes that we have initiated in our school, is the strongest asset for all faculty members and students for their teaching/learning process.
Secondary Section (IX-X)
Curriculum in classes IX and X include five academic subjects: English, a Second Language (Hindi, Nepali, French), Mathematics, Integrated Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Science (covering History, Civics, Geography and Economics). Co-curricular subjects include Physical Education, Work Experience, Art and Introductory Information Technology. The Class X courses end with the All India Secondary School Examination, which is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The board conducts examination for the five subjects, while the school provides grades for co-curricular subjects.
Primary Section (I-V)
The learner is exposed to Maths, English, General Science, Social Studies and a choice in the second language between Nepali and Hindi is offered. Computer education is provided through the multimedia lab, which has been equipped to meet the requirements of the young learner. From Class III onwards, French is introduced as a third language. Regular monthly tests are conducted and the grading system is practiced. Teaching-learning is interactive and communicative.
Middle Section (VI-VIII)
The curriculum is designed to help in all round personality development of the child. English, Nepali / Hindi, Math, Science, Social Science and a third language, French, are the academic subjects.
Computers is an integral part of the academic curriculum, where practical and theory classes are held every week.
SUPW (Socially Useful Productive Work)
Gives the children a choice of many skills to be done for a period of 3 years in continuation.
Activities
Social, Literary and Academic, Cultural and Community activities are performed enthusiastically by the students.
Physical Education
With 2 periods a week, students are expected to master one major team game every year. Inter-class, inter-house and inter-school sports competitions are held. Specialized coaching is available after school hours.
Educational Tours
Tours are held at least twice a year (Domestic as well as International). Trekking is essential in most of the tours.
Class Picnics
Twice a year, children are taken for movies, places of interest and educational trips.
Newspapers in Education: Children of Classes IV-X are subscribed to Periodical and weekly magazines and are avid readers of newspapers. Project work based on newspaper reading is also given to the children.
