Rupy’s International School, for the first time in Nepal introduced this new innovative technique of teaching/learning process named SUBJECT CLASSES. This procedure of subject classes is implemented from level III onwards. According to this we have well equipped subject classes for each subject. All students have their individual lockers where they keep their belongings. Students move to the respective subject class for the respective period. It lays emphasis on overall skills and also activities that reach beyond academics. A child graduating from Rupy’s International School has an all-round development with a capacity to communicate and think laterally, and the ability to interconnect different situations, which we believe is of importance in today's world if one is to become a global citizen.
At Rupy’s International School, we believe that all students have unique talents, whether in academics, sports, communication, technology, art, craft or drama; every child is special. Our mission is to recognize and enhance each individual's special talents and never to reject any child. The Rupy’s International School learning experience helps every child to succeed. Our teaching methodology ensures that students are being exposed to a holistic education experience in an active and dynamic learning environment, giving them the opportunity to identify and realize their potential, and to achieve excellence.
Students differ in their individual learning styles, and each student possesses a unique combination of multiple intelligence. Our integrated teaching methodology nurtures a stimulating learning environment to encourage students to learn at higher levels. Instructional strategies are student-centered and include active learning, enquiry, experience-based learning, cooperative and participative learning activities. We focus on integration of knowledge, development of critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills. Such a learning environment encourages the students to enjoy lessons, try out new things and to think creatively and independently.
Rupy’s International School focuses the child’s development through the following major guidelines of learning.
Non threatening environment: Students are free from anxiety about negative disciplining
and experience a sense of well-being as they learn.
Meaningful Content: Teachers select topics and themes that address standards across various learning areas and engage students meaningfully.
Preference: Students are given opportunities to select assignments that meet individual learning needs and interests.
Adequate Time: The schedule provides ample and flexible time for thorough exploration.
Enriched Environment: The school offers an interesting and inviting setting, with emphasis on objects from the real world for students to see and touch.
Collaboration: Students work together to enhance achievement and build social skills.
Accurate and timely Feedback: Students and parents receive an accurate feedback, both immediate and cumulative.
Mastery at the Application Level: Students internalize deeply what they learn and have opportunities to apply their learning to real-world situations.
Movement to Enhance Learning: Movements activate learning; therefore there is a high degree of flexibility and fluidity in classroom settings.
In the subject-classes, subject teachers use instructional strategies based on the above guidelines of learning. As an example, they develop learning activities that address multiple intelligences, organize students in small groups instead of rows, and provide opportunities for students to create real products for real audiences. Each subject teacher also develops an interdisciplinary curriculum organized around themes. The theme provides an overarching structure tied to an important concept that helps students see patterns and make connections among disparate facts and ideas with the subject classes being equiped with hi-tech computers it makes it more accessible to the teachers to teach at a vast level.
